TASER Self-Defense Training – Use of Force

HUNTER EDUCATION COURSE
The New York State Hunter Education course is a mandatory, and comprehensive training program required for first-time hunters to obtain a hunting license. Courses cover firearm/archery safety, wildlife identification, regulations, and ethics, available through in-person, instructor-led sessions.
Mandatory for first-time hunters. Students must be at least 11 years old.
Topics Covered: Firearm and crossbow safety, archery, hunter ethics, responsibility, hunting laws, wildlife identification, and conservation.
minimum, followed by a final exam (80% score needed to pass).
Safety Focus: Strict emphasis on muzzle control, proper handling, tree stand safety, and blaze orange usage.
Age Restrictions: Students under 16 must have a signed permission slip from a parent/guardian.

CPR, First Aid, and AED
CPR, First Aid, and AED work together in an emergency to save lives by addressing sudden cardiac arrest and other medical emergencies. First aid provides immediate, temporary care for a sudden illness or injury, while CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) uses chest compressions and rescue breaths to circulate oxygenated blood when the heart has stopped. An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a portable device that analyzes the heart’s rhythm and delivers an electric shock to restore it, which is crucial in cases of sudden cardiac arrest.
Together, CPR, First Aid, and AED form a vital chain of survival that increases a victim’s chances of recovery before professional medical help arrives. Quick action not only stabilizes the person in crisis but also prevents further complications, such as brain damage or excessive blood loss.
AVIRT Active Shooter Training and Stop The Bleed
Active Violence Immediate Response Training (AVIRT) gives you the tools to understand how to recognize warning signs, react quickly in an active shooter situation, and learn how to control bleeding in life-threatening situations. AVIRT is active shooter response training with the addition of techniques on how to stop the bleed of victims.
